Bayern Munich and Germany legend Franz Beckenbauer has confirmed that superstar Toni Kroos will soon be a Real Madrid player.
This ends months of speculation over the midfielder’s future and will come as a blow to both the German champions and other potential suitors- Chelsea and Manchester United.
Beckenbauer, though lamented the loss of such a talent was full of praise for the Spanish giants.
"As honorary president of Bayern I regret his departure. If he is going we will have lost a player of absolutely world class quality," "But there is also a future in his career. This can be an experience abroad and going to a club like Real Madrid is priceless.", Beckenbauer told the DFB Official website.
Kroos has scored two goals in the World Cup, both against Brazil and is one of the nominees for the FIFA Golden Ball award.
Earlier this week he had refused to comment on his future while the World Cup was still on.
"I have made my decision. First I want to play the World Cup. Once it is over, I will make my decision public. There is still a week left to go.", the midfielder had said.
