French Ligue 1 : Diego Lugano completes move to PSG

Turkish club Fenerbahce have confirmed that Diego Lugano has arrived at Paris Saint-Germain.

A release on the Fenerbache side read:“After five years of loyal service to Fenerbahce, Diego Lugano has signed an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain. We thank him for his efforts and wish him well in his life as a footballer. Lugano has demonstrated boundless energy and commitment which we will never forget. Diego, may God be with you.

Italian giants Juventus were also in the race for the Uruguayan captain, the Serie A side weren’t able to match to match PSG’s bid. The Turkish giants were looking for at least 3 million Euros for the services of the 30-year-old centre-back.

“I am happy to take on a new challenge at a super club like Paris”, said the former Sao Paulo man.

Off late, Les Perisiens have gone on a spending spree signing Javier Pastoer and Mohammed Sissoko.
