Barcelona News: Frenkie de Jong is presented at Barcelona after completing move from Ajax
Former Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong was presented at Barcelona on Friday before a delighted crowd at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona signed the promising 21-year-old Netherlands midfielder from Ajax for 75 million euros (85.5 million USD) back in January.
The deal could reach 86 million euros (98 million USD) including possible add-ons depending on De Jong and the team's performances during his five-year contract, which starts in July.
De Jong's poise on the ball and eye for a passes has drawn comparisons with Dutch legend Johan Cruyff, who flourished with Barcelona as a player and as a coach.
He will continue a long tradition of Dutch players who have played for Barcelona, including Cruyff, Ronald Koeman, Marc Overmars, Patrick Kluivert and Franck de Boer.
