ISTANBUL – Turkish outfit Galatasaray said Wednesday they have ended by mutual agreement the contract of Brazilian defender Cris, who only arrived from French side Lyon last summer.

Cris, 35, signed a two-year deal with the Turks but has rarely featured with the media criticising his poor form and pointing to some extra kilos the player has put on recently.

Cris, a former Brazil international, spent eight seasons with Lyon, winning four league titles, and also featured for the Brazil team which won the 2004 Copa America.
