Hello and thanks for coming back to read my picks to help you achieve FPL Legend status (or at least just improve your squad!)
Despite playing my Triple Captain chip on Leroy Sané I had an ok GW25. I finished on 77 points yet my overall rank dropped slightly to 64K.
I stuck by my 2 picks I previewed last week in Sergio Aguero (19 points) and Raheem Sterling (11 points!) and played both of them which formed a huge part of my solid weekly score.
Now the big planning for the blanks continues with blanks in GW27, GW31 & GW33 so make sure you’re ready!
Check out the next page for the Pundit's views on who you may want to consider instead!
Fantasy Premier League 2018-19: 3 Players to avoid for the coming weeks
#1 Richarlison – Midfielder (£6.8m)
Goals: 10
Assists: 2
Season Points: 111
Upcoming fixtures: WAT (A), BLANK, CAR (A)
Richarlison has been great value at times this season. 10 goals is joint 3rd amongst Midfielders in the Premier League this season alongside Son (£8.7m) and Sterling (£11.3m) which for his price point is excellent.
However, Everton are largely out of form with only 2 wins (Huddersfield GW24 & Bournemouth GW22) in their last 7 Premier League games and was benched against Manchester City this week. Richarlison has 1 goal in that time and has taken 0 shots in 3 out of his last 4 games which is a concern. He also has a blank in GW27 so now is probably the time to come off the Everton man.
#2 Eden Hazard – Midfielder (£10.9m)
Goals: 12
Assists: 10
Season Points: 163
Upcoming fixtures: MCI (A), BLANK, TOT (H)
The ultimate FPL troll returned this weekend! His 2 goals, 1 clean sheet point and 3 bonus points against Huddersfield in GW25 yielded 15 points for all those who kept faith. Many people, myself included, dropped the Chelsea man in favour of a City asset this week with the fact he had returned 1 assist in 6 games. Let’s be fair, we all knew it was a risk and if you moved to Sterling you only lost out on 4 points.
Eden Hazard has a couple of tough fixtures either side of a blank in GW27 so now is a good time to come off him which feels mad considering he’s just hauled! I’d expect his value to take a dip over the next couple weeks and let’s not forget Chelsea were horrible in GW23 & GW24.
#3 Aleksander Mitrovic – Forward (£6.5m)
Goals: 10
Assists: 3
Season Points: 105
Upcoming fixtures: MUN (H), WHM (A), SOT (A)
Mitrovic played a blinder in GW24 against Brighton scoring 2 goals and securing 3bps. That was his first attacking return since GW20. ‘Mitro’ is known for his shots on goal, which is generally a good thing for FPL assets. But he plays in a Fulham team with only 1 win in their last 5 games and are 7 points adrift from safety.
Although he has a nice couple of fixtures, they are both away from home. Fulham haven’t won away from home all season and have only picked up 2 points on the road this year. They’ve also failed to score in 7 out of 13 games away from home. So I’d look to move away from Mitrovic for now.

#1 Sadio Mané – Midfielder (£9.5m)
Goals: 11
Assists: 2
Season Points: 132
Upcoming fixtures: BOU (H), MUN (A), WAT (H)
Sadio Mané has been flying under the radar lately after all the attention has been focused on Mo Salah. He’s scored goals in each of his last 3 games and has 3 bonus points in the same period.
The Senegalese attacker has some nice fixtures coming up, remember he scored against United and picked up 2 bonus points in GW17. He’s averaging 2.64 Sh90 at the minute and has 10 shots in his last 3 games!
He’s also got games against the leaky Fulham and Burnley to come in his next 6 and crucially won’t blank this season. If you’re not doubling up on the Liverpool defence then Mané could be a great option in the Liverpool attack.
#2 Victor Lindelof – Defender (£5.0m)
Clean Sheets: 5
Goals: 1
Assists: 0
Season Points: 64
Upcoming fixtures: FUL (A), LIV (H), CPAL (A)
The Manchester United defence has tightened up as of late with 3 clean sheets in their last 5 games and I put a lot of that down to the performances of Lindelof at the heart of that back four. He’s picked up 1 goal, 1 clean sheet and 4 bonus points in his last 3 appearances.
Lindelof has also picked up at least 1 bonus point in 3 of United’s last 4 clean sheets so it’s a decent short term pick up until GW30 and is a cheap option that enables you to upgrade elsewhere.
#3 Joao Moutinho - Midfielder (£5.3m)
Goals: 1
Assists: 7
Season Points: 86
Upcoming fixtures: NEW (H), BOU (A), HUD (A)
Moutinho has become the assist king in recent weeks and is great value at £5.3m. He has 5 assists and 5 bonus points in his last 3 games, which is superb for a low priced midfielder. He's also feeding the impressive Raúl Jiménez who has been on fire this year.
The Portuguese playmaker has averaged 1.83 key passes per 90 but has played 9 key passes in his last 3 games. He has a great little run of fixtures coming up, so he is worth a look. One point to note is, I wouldn’t expect goals for his price point as he has only taken 1 shot in his last 10 games!
Pundit tips
Don’t go tearing your team apart! After I told you to consider playing your triple captain chip last week (unless you played it on Sané as I did!!!) you might be feeling pretty good about yourself!
Now we do have a blank Gameweek coming up in GW27 where 4 teams won’t play due to the league cup final (Everton, Chelsea, Man City & Brighton) but this doesn’t mean you need to remove all players from those teams.
Your planning should be focused on having 11 players on the field. Personally, I’m looking to still keep 2 players from each of those teams and then bench them for GW27. If you only field 10 players in GW27 it’s not the end of the world so just make sure you have a plan!
