Fantasy Premier League 2018-19: 3 budget players to pick up before the weekend fixtures of the Premier League

Welcome to 3 budget picks you may want to pick up for £7 million and under as a nice way to spend your FPL cash elsewhere to strengthen your squad! These might act as a nice little enabler!

#1 Fabian Schär - Defender (£4.7m)

Team: Newcastle United

Clean sheets: 5

Goals: 3

Assists: 1

Upcoming fixtures: WHM (A), EVE (H), BOU (A)

What a rocket of a goal from Schär this midweek against Burnley - any big name player would have been proud of that! Back to back clean sheets and 3 bonus points (21) make the Newcastle man an attractive budget option. He also doesn’t blank in GW31 which you should be planning for. He’s also taken 6 shots and made 2 key passes in his last 2 games.

#2 Lukasz Fabianski - Goalkeeper (£4.7m)

Team: West Ham United

Clean sheets: 4

Upcoming fixtures: NEW (H), CAR (A), HUD (H)

The first call out is that West Ham United hasn’t been keeping clean sheets as of late. But Fabianski is passing the eye test. He’s clearly a fantastic goalkeeper and he’s got 3 good fixtures to boot. He’s averaging 3 points per game and is the joint 5th highest scoring goalkeeper this season. He’s worth a look in my mind.

#3 Michy Batshuayi - Forward (£6.5m)

Team: Crystal Palace

Goals: 1

Assists: 1

Upcoming fixtures: BUR (A), BHA (H), BLANK

I didn’t want to make my 3 budget picks all blank gameweek players and ‘Batman’ could well be slipping under the radar. He scored a somewhat fortunate goal against Leicester in the GW27 victory. Crystal Palace has 2 wins and 1 draw in their last 3 games and is putting together some good performances. Batshuayi loves a shot on goal too with 9 shots in those 3 games, including 5 shots in his 29 minutes as a substitute! With his performances having a positive impact on Zaha I expect Michy to keep his place in the side.
