Gareth Bale has said that some of the Premier League teams play too defensive which he doesn’t like. Bale also said that he prefers the Champions League.
The 23-year-old Welsh star, who was name last season’s PFA Player of the year and Young Player of the Year, received a lot of individual praise from around the world, but Spurs missed out on qualifying for the Champions League.
Gareth Bale has been linked heavily with a move to Real Madrid; however, Tottenham Hotspur insisted that Bale is not for sale.
In an interview with Esquire, Bale said: “When you play in the Premier League against a lower-end team, they set up to defend all the time. They set up to block you off.
“But when you play in the Champions League, all the teams are used to winning every week so it’s more of an open attacking game, it’s end-to-end.”He added: “The music is a massive thing.
“When we first got into the Champions League, it was one of the things most of the lads were looking forward to, hearing it in the stadium.
“It’s things like that which make it special.”
Despite facing the teams which opt to play too defensively, Bale managed to scored 26 goals last season.
“I don’t feel any pressure. If I’m scoring all the goals and winning us the games, then I just carry on as normal,” said Bale.
