The goal, which Ryan Giggs scored in the replay of the 1999 FA Cup Semi Final against Arsenal wherein he dribbles past several defenders en route to scoring a beautiful goal, was voted goal of the century by the English F.A.
A few days ago, another left-footed Welsh tried to imitate the same in a World Cup qualifier against Croatia. The distance from where he picked the ball was similar to Giggsy’s, however Giggs had dribbled past four defenders before scoring that sensational goal. Gareth Bale dribbled past three. And was unfortunate in scoring the goal in that round of play. (See from 4:49 in the following video)
Nonetheless, it was a beautiful sight for those 15 – 20 or so seconds. Pretty sure that is one of the many more to come from the Welsh midfielder.
