Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has taken to Twitter to troll his young teammate Munir El Haddadi after the latter missed a sitter during the weekend's El Clasico. Pique was just behind Munir and was clearly distraught when the 20-year-old Spanish player failed to score from a cross by Neymar.
Barcelona had already scored four goals and stamped their authority when Munir missed a great chance in the 88th minute of the match to make it five at the Bernabeu.
Pique, who typically makes runs into the box was just behind Munir and wanted to score the fifth for his side, only ending up being enraged by Munir's miss. Neymar sent in a brilliant low cross which begged to be put away in the back of the net.
To score five at the Bernabeu against the Los Blancos would have been a great achievement and clearly Pique wanted to be the one to do it. After the match, Pique posted a photo, on his Twitter account, with Munir and, in jest, asking Munir to leave the ball to him the next time.
On Tuesday, Barcelona further showed why they are, arguably, the best team in Europe right now with a thumping 6-1 win against Roma in the fifth round of the Champions League matches. Pique scored the fourth goal for Barcelona from a deft pass from Lionel Messi, who started his first game in months.
Following the dominating CL victory, Pique took another hilarious dig at Munir when he posted a photo with Messi and thanked Messi for passing the ball to him to score.
With the 4-0 victory over their rivals, Barcelona are now six points ahead of Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table. The Catalans have made it through to the knockout stages of the CL after finishing top of their group, with one match in hand.
