Berlin, Dec 28 (IANS) Hannover coach Mirko Slomka parted company with immediate effect, the club said via their official homepage.
Hannover’s president Martin Kind, director of sports Dirk Dufner and the committees agreed to sack Slomka following talks regarding the status quo and the outlook for the upcoming months, Xinhua reported on Friday.
“It wasn’t an easy decision. But, we came to the conclusion that we had to change something,” Dufner said.
President Kind told the club’s official homepage: “I would particularly like to thank Mirko Slomka. He saved Hannover from the relegation and led the team twice into the UEFA Europa League. These successes will always be associated with his name.”
Hannover sit currently on 13th position with just 18 points out of 17 matches. The “Reds” try to find a new coach in the coming days. It is the fourth coach dismissal of the season.
