The latest FIFA rankings have been released. As expected World Cup winners, Germany top the rankings. World Cup finalist, Argentina are close behind in 2nd spot, and Colombia roundup the top 3.
Hosts Brazil, who finished 4th in the World Cup, are in the 6th spot, while the team they were defeated by in the 3rd place play-off, the Netherlands lie a place above them in the table.
2010 FIFA World Cup winners, Spain are positioned 9th and England are on the 13th spot.
India lose a place to be ranked as the 171st best footballing team in the world. The highest increase in rankings was African nation Rwanda; an increase of 22 places sees them lie outside the top 50 at the 68th position. The biggest drop in rankings was suffered by Cuba – who lost 34 places to be judged as the 113th best footballing nation in the world.
