In last night’s El Clasico, a match Barcelona won 2-1 at Camp Nou, there was an incident in the second half when Javier Mascherano brought down Cristiano Ronaldo in the box.

In the 71st minute, Ronaldo made a run into the box, ready to receive a pass from Angel Di Maria. But before he could touch the ball, Mascherano’s shoulder barge brought him down as Ronaldo appealed for a penalty.

But the referee did not blow the whistle and signalled both teams to ‘play on’, much to the frustration of a visibly agitated Ronaldo.
