So the transfer window has finally shut and we can focus fully on the football until the circus reopens in January.
Are you happy with the business that Chelsea have done this window?
With a returning iconic manager, there was always likely to be plenty of business with five new players coming in and a few players released, a million loans and only Jeffrey Bruma departing for a transfer fee.
This has left us with a net spend of around £50m once you factor in the loan fees we may have recouped on Marin, Moses, Courtois and Lukaku.
Overall, I think this has been a good window, we did not lose Juan Mata and maintained a high level of quality in the squad.
The concern was always a striker and it seems Samuel Eto’o is a sticking plaster over the need for a long term high quality option.
I would have liked to have kept Romelu Lukaku as he is developing into that option. Yet Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba should be sufficient for a Premier League season.
Players In
Andre Schurrle (from Bayer Leverkusen): £18 million
Macro van Ginkel (from Vitesse Arnhem): £8 million
Mark Schwarzer (from Fulham): Free
Samuel Eto’o (from Anzhi Makhachkala): Free
Willian (from Anzhi Makhachkala): £30 million
Christian Atsu (from Porto): £3.5 million
Total: £59.5 million
The signing of Mark Schwarzer was a real coup as he is the perfect option as a back up to Petr Cech whilst time will tell us whether Schurrle, Van Ginkel and returning loanee Kevin De Bruyne can make an impact on the Premier League.
I am excited about the arrival of Samuel Eto’o as I am hopeful that he is still the incredible player I remember from his days at Barcelona.
Willian is a tough one, a talented player but I am hoping that his arrival does not push out Juan Mata, who is one of my favourite players.
Players Out
Victor Moses (to Liverpool): Loan
Romelu Lukaku (to Everton): Loan
Sam Hutchinson (to Vitesse Arnhem): Loan
Christian Atsu (to Vitesse Arnhem): Loan
Jeffrey Bruma (to PSV Eindhoven): £2.5 million
Florent Malouda (to Trabzonspor): Free
Ross Turnbull (to Doncaster Rovers): Free
Thibaut Courtois (to Athletico Madrid): Loan
Oriol Romeu (to Valencia): Loan
Marko Marin (to Sevilla): Loan
Lucas Piazon (to Vitesse Arnehm): Loan
Total: £2.5 million
Jose Mourinho has started to reshape the squad to his taste, and the departures of Marko Marin and Victor Moses were inevitable once we started spending serious money on players in their positions.
Florent Malouda has finally left after a year in the wilderness and the release of Ross Turnbull was a positive given how shaky he looked when given a brief chance in the Chelsea goal.
Of the loans, Courtois to Madrid makes sense as does Romeu to Valencia to gain experience, however the loan of Lukaku is frustrating as he can compete in the Premier League.
There have been lots of youth loans (too many to list) including the loan of Christian Atsu who was bought and then sent out on loan to Vitesse Arnhem or as Chelsea B as they should really be known.
