India internationals and IMG-Reliance contracted players Gouramangi Singh and Subrata Pal have been offered a three-week trial by newly-promoted Danish top tier outfit FC Vestsjaelland while another IMG-R player Syed Rahim Nabi is set to go to USA for his trial at MLS outfit DC United after getting his visa done on Monday.
Although some sections of the media reported earlier on Monday evening that Gouramangi and Subrata are going to Denmark for a three-month trial, sources close to Sportskeeda confirmed that the offer is for three weeks with an option of an extension.
But the players’ participation in the trial is yet to be confirmed, with IMG-Reliance and the club still in talks. A decision is expected to be taken in the near future.
Both Gouramangi and Subrata have had trials abroad in the past with the Manipuri central defender having a trial at Australia’s Melbourne Heart in 2010 while the India goalkeeper had a training-cum-trial stint with German fourth division outfit Red Bull Leipzig last year.
However, Nabi’s trial at DC United is now confirmed, with the player expected to leave within the next seven days. The trial will be a for a period of 10-14 days but if the reigning AIFF Player of the Year impresses the Washington-based franchise, he could be called back again next year in mid-March when the first season of the newly-proposed IPL-style tournament will get over and the MLS transfer window will reopen.
