Malaga (Spain), Dec 10 (IANS) Granada held Malaga 1-1, ending the hosts' home winning streak at six matches and garnering what could be a crucial point in the fight to avoid La Liga football relegation.
The visitors looked the better side in the opening minutes here on Friday, but it was Malaga who drew first blood with Ignacio Camacho's goal off a header in the 24th minute.
Granada goalkeeper Ochoa made a spectacular stop minutes later against Mikel Villanueva to keep Malaga from doubling their lead.
The visiting side nearly equalized early in the second half, but a header by Kravets hit the post.
The advantage shifted to Malaga as the period wore on and Juan Carlos forced another big save from Ochoa to keep the match within reach.
Malaga thought they had done enough when a ball from Sandro found the back of the net, only to see the goal disallowed on an offside violation.
A fading Granada finally pulled level in the 81st minute, thanks to another Kravets header, spurring a furious charge by Malaga to rescue the victory.
Ochoa shined again with a stop against Diego Llorente, who then saw his goal in stoppage time called back for yet another offside.
The draw leaves Malaga with 21 points from 15 matches and a provisional hold on eighth place in La Liga. Granada has 9 points and sits in 19th.
