Many fans might find this absurd. After all, Zeus is the king of the Greek pantheon as he sits on the throne of heaven.

It might be Lionel Messi who sits on the throne of the best player in the world given that he is the current Ballon d’Or holder. However, if historical pattern were to repeat again, then it is only a matter of time before Cristiano Ronaldo wins the Ballon d’Or again—becoming the king of the holy football sanctuary.

There is also another reason for putting Cristiano in the same bracket as Zeus. In Greek myth, Zeus is believed to be a womanizer; something that the Portuguese is acquainted with. Cristiano has had more girlfriends as a footballer than he has won titles with his teams, making him a more logical choice for Zeus than Lionel Messi.
