GSA Super Division: Navajyoti hold Green Valley

In a group match at the ongoing Abhishek Motors R.G. Baruah Guwahati Sports Association’s Super Division Football League, Navajyoti held Green Valley 1-1, thus keeping alive their title dreams.

Both teams players tried hard to find the back of the net in this mouth-watering clash. The first goal came in the 22nd minute of the match as Shabir Ali of Green Valley found the back of the net through a powerful volley.

At the end of first half the scoreline remained in the favour of Green Valley at 1-0.

In the second half Navajyoti played aggressively and they succeeded in finding the equaliser in the 61th minute of the match. Khonjeng Kamei scored from a perfect back pass off Vanlalmuana.

This results ends the title hopes for Green Valley SC. Navajyoti have to beat table-toppers NF Railway in the last match of their campaign to win the title.

Today Food Corporation of India will take on Assam State Electricity Board SC in a relegation round match of the league.

Dugar Shield: Oil India FC defeated the City Police, Guwahati to lift the Sohanlal Dugar Shield at Tezpur. Oil blanked City Police by the score of 6-0.

Wary and Mintu Boro scored two goals each. Birjab Musahary and Manas Manjit Chetia were the other scorers.
