Is this the Arsenal we support? – A question we all asked ourselves after the humiliation at the San Siro. This was Arsenal’s heaviest defeat in Europe. It was an appalling display. It was difficult to accept. Who would believe that Arsenal once played beautiful football under the same manager. ‘Shocking’ – Arsene Wenger called it. It was however, something that Arsene needed.

Later, the ever-so-loyal Zlatan Ibrahimovic commented that Robin Van Persie should leave Arsenal in order to win silverware. Players have the option to leave Arsenal and chase trophies but as fans you don’t have that luxury. Seven years without a trophy is a long time for a club like Arsenal to go without a trophy. As Arsenal fans we’re still left with the nostalgia from ‘The Invinvlbles’ era. That is what drives us. However, a question pops up every now and then – Would we ever win a trophy or Does this team has what it takes to win trophies?

YES, it does. Arsenal fans have been incredibly patient and continue to be. This Arsenal side is in transition. With the departures of Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy Arsene’s youth project had failed. The players who have come in need some time to settle down. Eventually, they will gel together. Arsenal have come a long way after the disastrous start to the season. It may seem impossible to get past Milan now, but Arsenal fans we always believe. We are still in the FA Cup, and chances are bright as both the Manchester teams are already out. A top four finish in the Premier League is possible. These are testing times and this Arsenal team needs the fans behind them, more than ever now. All we need is to keep our hope alive. Arsene Wenger can bring us the trophies. And ‘In Arsene we still trust’. King Henry made an appeal too

“You have to remember that you go through moments where it is not always nice. If you are an Arsenal fan then you are an Arsenal fan, that’s the way it is. Once a Gunner you are always a Gunner, you can’t change.”

We should take pride in being a Gunner. We might not have trophies on our side right now but in time we will. Our players are fighting this battle and they are not alone. You can be angry, you can be frustrated, but you just don’t stop to be a gunner.
