Hannover have named Daniel Stendel as their permanent coach, the "Reds" have confirmed in an official statement. Already relegated Hannover agreed on a permanent deal with caretaker Daniel Stendel, who put pen to paper on Friday to a contract until June 2018.
The contract is also valid for the second division, reports Xinhua.
Despite the relegation ahead of schedule, Stendel was able to secure five points from three games after replacing Thomas Schaaf at the start of April.
"Since years Daniel has shown his qualities as Hannover's youth coach," sporting director Marin Bader told the club' s official website.
"In recent weeks, we were able to see how successfully he can work in professional soccer. In addition, Daniel knows the clubs perfectly."
Stendel added: "It will be a challenge. The task is incredibly interesting. I am therefore pleased with the trust placed in me."
Hannover sit on the last place of the Bundesliga standings. Their relegation was sealed after the 17th-placed Frankfurt overcame Mainz 2-1 in a 31st round match.
