Harbhajan meets Pele in Brazil

Harbhajan Singh, the Indian off-spinner who has played with and against some of the all time cricketing legends and a legend in himself got an amazing chance of meeting an all time football legend, probably the best in the eyes of many, the legendary ‘Pele’.

Harbhajan is having a time of his enjoying the FIFA World Cup in Brazil which is termed as the Mecca of Football. He is on a promotional tour with a watch brand. Bhajji was enthralled to meet him and he also posted his photograph with him on twitter. He also got a football signed by Pele. He also tweeted about a moment from a match between Les Blues and Ecuador which he enjoyed.

Bhajji told that he was overjoyed by meeting Pele and added that he is a simple man even after being one of the most celebrated personalities on the planet. Pele somehow knew that Bhajji is a celebrity and he also knew that cricket is a very popular sport in India. Pele also asked him that he plays football or not.

Pele has once been to India in 1977 with the American Club Cosmos and he played a friendly against Mohun Bagan.

India have also been hit by the football fever despite it’s team not even getting close to making it to the main tournament. And inspite of the fact that the matches are being telecasted live late in the night, the people are still finding themselves glued to the TV sets.

The turbanator, with more than 700 international wickets to his name is currently out of the national side and it would be a kind of consolation for him since he is not in England with the Indian team. He also recently featured in popular TV shows Comedy Nights With Kapil and Mission Sapne. Indian actress Geeta Basra is also accompanying him on the tour.
