QPR boss Harry Redknapp delivered a brutal verdict verdict about the current England squad, calling them the worst he has seen in years accoring to the Mirror.
The 67-year-old even stated that the Three Lions can only emerge victorious if Luis Suarez is absent from the Uruguay squad and claimed that England defensive duo Gary Cahill and Phil Jagielka just aren’t up to the mark.
The former Tottenham boss was quoted as saying: "I've heard a few people say that this is the best England side we've had in recent years, but that's nonsense.
"It's a good side, but no disrespect to Phil Jagielka and Gary Cahill, they're not in the same league as John Terry and Rio Ferdinand when they were in their prime. We had a stronger side in South Africa.
"The selection that matters most for Roy Hodgson on Thursday is one that's out of his hands. If Luis Suarez doesn't play I think Uruguay have got no chance of beating us."
England are due to face Uruguay on Friday at 12:30 am IST.
