Harry Redknapp has admitted that Loic Remy will look to move permanently away from QPR this summer, regardless of whether the club get promoted back to the Premier League or not, according to The Express.

Remy has been on loan at Newcastle United all season and enjoyed a successful period on Tyneside, attracting the interest of Arsenal as well as Alan Pardew hoping to keep the French forward at St James’ Park.

Redknapp claims that Remy is unlikely to return to Loftus Road next season regardless of which division the R’s are playing in, as he has higher ambitions to be competing in European football and anyone who meets his £10 million release clause has a chance of landing his signature.

The QPR manager told reporters: “Remy wants to play Champions League football next season.

“The chances of us keeping him are not great if he’s got a buy-out clause.

“He’s done well at Newcastle and one or two other big clubs are trying to get him, so there’s every chance he will go.

“I chased him at Tottenham, I knew he would do well.

“He’s a goal-scorer and with the right team pushing to get into the top four, he’s capable of getting 20 goals.

“If I say he’s worth £20m and his buy-out clause is £10m or whatever, it’s difficult.”

Loic Remy has scored 13 goals in 23 league appearances for Newcastle this season, converting 21.3% of his shots on goal.
