What's the rumour?
Arsenal and Arsene Wenger have been under immense pressure in the last few weeks. A run of questionable results and the very likely sale of Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United had left the fans disgruntled.
However, after yesterday's impressive win against Crystal Palace, there might be some more good news for the Gunners as reports in Sky Sports claim that Manchester United star Mkhitaryan is set to have his medical in the next 48 hours.
While the potential loss of Alexis Sanchez will undoubtedly be a huge blow for Arsene Wenger, there is no doubting the obvious quality of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and the Armenian's arrival will go a long way in softening the blow from the Chilean superstar's exit.

In case you didn't know...
One of Jose Mourinho's first signings as a Manchester United manager, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has not had the best of times at Old Trafford. The Armenian playmaker has struggled to replicate the form he had shown at Borussia Dortmund and he was often left out of the United starting line-up.
The potential swap deal involving him and Sanchez could suit everyone involved and just reinvigorate the Armenian's career.
The heart of the matter
Capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or on the wings, Henrikh Mkhitaryan could provide some much-needed depth and quality to the Arsenal attack. The Armenian superstar is blessed with excellent dribbling skills, technical ability, vision and his potential arrival could also get the best out of the struggling Alexandre Lacazette.
Also, Mkhitaryan could get much more regular playing time at Arsenal and his ability to play on the wings could prove to be extremely handy for Arsene Wenger.

Author's take
Mkhitaryan might not have been a huge success at Manchester United, but playing under Arsene Wenger along with a mobile striker like Alexandre Lacazette might just get the best out of the 28-year-old playmaker.
It will not surprise anyone if the Armenian goes on to become a huge success at The Emirates.
