Hertha Berlin, who gained promotion to the Bundesliga, have extended their kit deal with Nike for another decade, prolonging an association that began in 1999. The deal will see the club wear the trademark swoosh until 2025.

Sponsors.de reported that Nike have been paying Hertha €3 million per year and the new deal is expected to be worth a similar amount, although it may alter depending on the sales of replica shirts.

Hertha’s managing director Michael Preetz said the extension was “a great sign for the whole club”, while Nike’s Daniel Eppler added: “The club is distinguished not only by its great tradition, but also by outstanding young talent and its extraordinary fans.”

Hertha marked their restoration in the German top flight with a 6-1 thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt.

In addition to Hertha BSC, Nike also supplies German club teams including FSV Mainz 05, SC Freiburg, SV Werder Bremen and Eintracht Braunschweig.
