Ricard "Riqui" Puig Martí, the latest sensation from the much famed Barcelona's La Masia academy. Barcelona's coach Ernesto Valverde grabbed everyone's attention when he named Riqui Puig in Barcelona's substitute in the Joan Gamper trophy against Boca Juniors. With his Performance in that game, he showed the whole world that La Masia academy has not stopped producing talents.
After all, he is the best player from Barcelona's US touring team, which earned Valverde the confidence of handing him a start from the bench.
Puig is a natural born offensive midfielder who has a lot of inclination for going on the attack and combining with his teammates on the build up. Unlike Xavi or Sergio Busquets, Puig is an offensive midfielder but he still has that familiar passing ability that all the Barcelona products get from the very early stages of their time in La Masia.
