Once the defender was drawn to Hazard, he slipped in a back heel pass to Fabregas who finished first time, although Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann got a hand to it.
Chelsea 1-1 Schalke: Huntelaar (62’)
However, Schalke scored in the second half with a quick counter-attack that leveled the score. Fabregas was the culprit as he lost the ball in midfield while looking for a foul that wasn’t given. Julian Draxler came away with the ball and skipped past the challenges of Ramires and Branislav Ivanovic before finding Huntelaar on the left.
The Dutch forward then moved the ball to his right foot before firing in a low shot from the edge of the box and into the bottom left corner.
