Chelsea came from a goal behind to beat a hapless Burnley side 3-1 to go top of the Premier League Table.
New signings Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas made their debuts for the club and so did Thibaut Courtois. but left-back Felipe Luis was on the bench. Burnley were playing in the Premier League for the first time since getting relegated in the 2009-10 season.
Burnley got an early lead but Chelsea hit back scoring three goals in the first half with fluid and easy on the eye football to send a message to their title rivals.

Burnley took a shock lead through Scott Arfield’s well taken shot just inside the box to which Courtois couldn’t react to.
Burnley 1-1 Chelsea: Diego Costa (17’)
Chelsea weren’t flustered and kept probing a nervous looking Burnley backline . A deflected cross by Branislav Ivanovic fell into the path of Diego Costa who made no mistake in scoring in his first Premier League match.
Burnley 1-2 Chelsea: Andre Schuerrle (21’)
Just 4 minutes later, former Arsenal and Barcelona playmaker Cesc Fabregas produced a moment of magic with a lobbed pass to Andre Schuerrle, who had made a great late run to slide it past the Burnley goalkeeper Heaton.
In what could have added further to the scoreline, Costa pounced on a poor backpass by Burnley, nudged it past Goalkeeper Heaton but referee Michael Oliver instead booked the striker for simulation.

Fabregas turned provider again as his corner was easily tapped by Ivanovic.
