Ronaldo scored Real’s second on the night to seal their win

Real Madrid put in a professional performance to defeat Elche comfortably 2-0 in their La Liga encounter last night.

The win saw Madrid extend their advantage at the top to four points over Barcelona and seven points over neighbours Atletico. After 24 matches, Real have 60 points, having won 20 matches and lost four. They are yet to register a single draw in the league.

The reigning Champions League winners took the lead in the 56th minute, after a storming run and centre by Cristiano Ronaldo saw the ball reach Karim Benzema, who put it into an open net.

Ronaldo sealed the win by powering a brilliant header past the goalkeeper in the 69th minute, after some great work down the left flank by Isco.
