Loic Remy played the part of the super-sub by scoring the winning goal for Chelsea against Hull City at the KC Stadium on Sunday. The Blues opened the scoring early when Eden Hazard unleashed a powerful left-footed shot into the top-left corner of the goal after Diego Costa flicked him the ball from Nemanja Matic’s pass. The provider became the goal scorer just after seven minutes, when he Cesc Fabregas ball in the right side of the penalty box and curled in a beautiful goal.
The visitors went two goals ahead within 10 minutes, but Hull City replied with two goals in 74 seconds as Ahmed Elmohamady slid in before Abel Hernandez took advantage of the howler by goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who misplaced the pass from Branislav Ivanovic.
Courtois stole the show later in the second half, when he saved three successive shots fired at him by the Hull players, to keep the blues in the match. However, cometh the hour, cometh the man, as Remy came in as a substitute for Costa in the 77th minute and scored the much needed match-winning goal for the Blues, with the assist coming from Willian.
