Real Madrid players celebrate their third goal of the night

Real Madrid carried their Clasico momentum into the Copa Del Rey as they defeated UE Cornella comfortably with a margin of 4-1. Los Blancos continued their superb run of form as they look a big advantage in Catalunya heading into the second leg.

LFP player of the season Cristiano Ronaldo was rested for this game and Chicharito started up front alongside Karim Benzema. Raphael Varane and Nacho paired up in defence while Isco, Ilaremendi and Sami Khedira took charge of things in the centre.

Three different scorers registered for Real as Varane scored a brace of headers from the corner deliveries while Chicharito and Marcelo grabbed one each. Oscar Munoz gave an early scare to the visitors when he cancelled out Varane’s opener. But the Champions League holders proved to be to strong in the ned for the Spanish minnows.
