2014 Champions League winners Real Madrid beat the Europa League champions Sevilla 2-0 to win the UEFA Super Cup in Cardiff.
The Madrid side had a star studded attacking lineup with all of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema in the starting XI.
Los Blancos scored the first goal in the 30th minute when Ronaldo started a move he finished off. Receiving the ball on the right wing, he let fly a cross field ball which finally found its way to Bale. Ronaldo then made a run into the box with Bale whipping in an inch perfect cross which was prodded hoe by the Portuguese forward.
Real Madrid went into the half-time break with a 1-0 lead.
The second goal came just four minutes into the second half with Ronaldo getting on the score sheet again. After receiving the ball on the left from Benzema, Ronaldo fired in a powerful left-footed shot that Beto could have saved but ended up in the back of the net.
