German football champions Bayern Munich's president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is interested in signing Italian football side Napoli's Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to media reports on Thursday.
Rummenigge expressed his "interest" in signing the player, saying that Higuain would do well at the Bavarian club, reports Efe.
According to reports, contacts have been made between both parties for the signing, but it also speculated that this could be a way to intimidate Bayern's striker, Robert Lewandowski, who allegedly wishes to transfer to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Reports added that Higuain may be wanted by Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, who will succeed current manager of Bayern, Pep Guardiola, at the end of this season.
