During the Guinness International Champions Cup match between Chelsea and Real Madrid where Mourinho for the first time faced his ex-club, Ronald Gjorka, a 20 year old Real Madrid fan, stomped onto the field and hugged Christiano Ronaldo.
A humble Christiano Ronaldo embraced the hug from this over-enthusiastic fan and carefully heard out what the fan had to say. The crowd cheered the whole time during the incident as these types of incidents are not something that happen every game.
The long embrace between Ronaldo and Ronald ended when the police had to intervene and dragged the fan outside the playing arena of the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida.
The Portuguese forward who scored a penalty and a free-kick against Elche last week penned a letter to the authorities, who happen to be Miami Police in this case, urging them to drop the case against the fan and to allow him to stay in the US, reports Metro.
‘I understand your position and the importance of enforcing rules and law,’ the letter read.
‘However, I respectfully request that you and your office reconsider this decision and dismiss the two criminal charges this young man faces.’
It is not sure that all will be well for Gjorka, but the Real Madrid star going out of his way to help this desperate fan is definitely heart warming and speaks volumes about his attitude.
