"I believe that this year will be a good year for Al Nassr" - Cristiano Ronaldo names trophy he wants to win with Saudi club

Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that the AFC Champions League competition is a trophy that he wants to win. The Portuguese forward also expressed that he believes that 2025 would be a good year.

The former Real Madrid forward has failed to win a trophy since joining Al-Nassr as a free agent from Manchester United in January 2023.

During an interview, Ronaldo shared his thoughts on the trophy that he would love to win. (via Fabrizio Romano):

"The AFC Champions League is something I want to win for the club."

He added:

"I will continue to push and help Al Nassr to win titles. I believe that this year will be a good year for Al Nassr."

Ronaldo has scored 74 goals and registered 18 assists in 83 games since joining Al-Nassr. In 19 appearances, he has scored 16 goals and provided three assists this season.

In the AFC Champions League, Al-Nassr are ranked third having registered 13 points from six games this season. The 39-year-old has also scored four goals in the competition this season.

In the Saudi Pro League, Al-Nassr are ranked fourth having accumulated 25 points from 13 games this season. They are 11 points behind Karim Benzema's Al-Ittihad who are on top of the table.

Ronaldo has claimed that his family is comfortable in Saudi Arabia and he's happy at Al-Nassr. This comes after there are rumors surrounding his future at the club.

The Portuguese forward's contract at the club is set to expire in June 2025 and he's yet to pen a new deal.

During an interview, he provided an update regarding his future. He said (via Fabrizio Romano):

"I’m happy in Saudi and my family is happy. We started a new life in this beautiful country."

He added:

"Work hard, respect the club, respect your contract and believe that things will change – for Al Nassr to try to win more titles."

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has claimed that he would also try to win more trophies for the Saudi Pro League side. The Portugal skipper has won several trophies in his career and it would be interesting to see if he would win one for Al-Nassr.
