What's the story?
According to ESPN via the Record, former Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has expressed interest to manage in France but doesn't want to rush things as he is enjoying his time off with friends and family.
In case you didn't know
Jose Mourinho is one of the most successful managers of the 21st century. He tasted his first major success at Porto where he led them to Primeira Liga title in 2002–03. He also led them UEFA Champions League success in 2004. He moved to Chelsea and won back to back Premier League titles.
His trophy cabinet continued to grow as the Portuguese won the treble with Inter Milan in the 2009-10 season before heading to England for his second stint with Chelsea where he again won the Premier League in his second season. His last managerial venture was with Manchester United with whom he won the Europa League before getting sacked in December last year.
The heart of the matter
Jose Mourinho had a difficult time at Manchester United. Though he won the Europa League in 2017, he failed to win the Premier League or UEFA Champions League titles.
His brand image took a hit at Old Trafford with fans, pundits and media continually got on his back for his off-field statements and the performances on the field.
After getting the sack, Jose is now spending more time with friends and family and introspecting what went wrong at Manchester United.
"I imagine myself training in France one day. I am a man who has worked in four different countries and who likes other cultures," said Mourinho.
What's next?
A man of Jose's stature would not be left unemployed for long and some clubs would love to take him on board as their manager.
