I-League 2017-18 outfit Minerva Punjab AFC are all set to get a major addition to their brand as an independent source suggests that current Manchester United and Crystal Palace sponsor Apollo Tyres is all set to enter into an association with the Indian top division side.
Minerva Punjab were the biggest contributors to India's FIFA U17 World Cup squad with as many as three players and are all set to expand their dedication to the quality environment inside the club with this great addition.
If the deal with Apollo Tyres is finalised then Minerva Punjab will use the money in bringing in UEFA 'A' license holder Pavinder Singh as the team's technical consultant. Singh was named ‘Coach of the Year 2015’ at the Asian Football Awards at Wembley Stadium. His father and mother originally are from Punjab, India, who had migrated to the UK. Born and educated in the UK, Singh now delivers football coaching qualifications up to UEFA-B license. He also delivers Talent ID courses in a variety of professional clubs in England. Currently, he is pursuing masters in sports coaching. Pavinder, also known as Pav, has coached at successful academies including Leeds United and Bradford City.
Minerva Punjab are also said to be in talks with Ajith Braich, a Canada Soccer Coaching A License Holder who has served as a coach observer in Canada Soccer’s women’s national youth program in 2006 (one camp with coach Bob Birarda) and also served as Technical Director of North Delta SC, an amateur team in Canada.
With the new additions to the club, Minerva Punjab are expected to enjoy greater strides in club environment and management, which can boost their performance in the upcoming I-League season if the management acts accordingly.
The deals are in early stages and it's a matter of time before they are finalised.
