#10 Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong (Shillong Lajong FC)
When Shillong Lajong came into the I-League in 2009, the Jawaharlal Stadium, which was previously used for football and running at an amateur level, came into use as the home ground for the club. Since then, the stadium has consistently attracted 30,000 supporters for its matches, in a city where football is the most popular game.
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium has two-tier stands with a roof over the main stand. After drawing some criticism over the quality of the playing surface, the authorities laid astroturf in 2012 which is being used till date. The stadium is one of the few stadiums which is packed for every game with a loud and vociferous fan base from the north-east backing the team.
