Churchill Brothers SC went top of the I-League with another big results, this time a 6-0 trashing of Shillong Lajong FC at the new artificial Duler ground in Mapusa. The Red Machines now have 28 points from 12 matches and a positive goal difference of +20.
Meanwhile Pune FC continued their winning run to move once more into second spot as they also have 28 points to their name. But it needed a James Moga injury time goal for Pune FC to win 2-1 away to United Sikkim FC at the Paljor Stadium.
East Bengal Club moved into third spot with a convincing 4-1 away victory against relegation fighting Salgaocar FC. It was a Chidi Edeh hattrick and a Robin Singh goal which won the match for the red-and-gold, who had gone 0-1 down due to a Marcus Mascarenhas goal.
