Iago Aspas is being touted around for sale by Liverpool, according toLiverpool Echo journalist James Pearce.
Pearce is so convinced that Aspas is available for transfer that he does not believe the Spaniard will be around the club in a month’s time.
Aspas struggled to impress in his first season in the Premier League after his £7.7 million transfer from Celta. He made only 14 appearances in the league, not scoring any goals in those games.
He did, however, provide the assist for Daniel Sturridge’s goal on the opening day of the season, when Liverpool triumphed 1-0 against Stoke. He also scored his first official goal for Liverpool in their 2-0 win against Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup. Aspas failed to impose himself on the side, however, and could not get past the twin talents of Sturridge and Luis Suarez up front.
Liverpool have already made three signings ahead of the new season, and will likely look to make more, with talismanic striker Suarez expected to depart Liverpool for Barcelona.
