So rumors in a number of top media indicate that Manchester United might be considering an option of selling Nani and Anderson for anyone who is willing to buy the pair. Well, to anyone who is willing to buy any of them, that is. Pundits are even tipping Tottenham to lead the rush for the midfield pair. I stand corrected, but then again, I would like to believe that Manchester United are not in any way considering a sale of these two players, and for a good reason too.
Nani has had his ups and downs in as far as getting on form is concerned, but this does happen to all players. Even Wayne Rooney is going through the same thing, but that does not mean that RVP coming in will see him get sold, right? We know all too well that on his good day, Nani can give teams hell, especially when he cuts in from the flanks to the center of the pitch, something that I still believe Ashley Young is yet to perfectly master. No offense, but Young is rather too predictable by my standards, always running on the wing, and trying to cut in a cross for anyone whose head is high enough to slot in. maybe once or twice he can attempt a cheeky shot or lob on goal, but that’s just it. So for all Nani fans out there, there is still hope. Let’s face it, United have a higher chance of selling Berbatov than Nani.
The other and actually the main reason why I would like to think United will not sell these two is that Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes need to go home, so does Michael Carrick and probably Darren Fletcher. That leaves a lot of room to be filled, and you honestly cannot expect Cleverley to play a full season without injuries. However much Shinji Kagawa looks to be the perfect solution to supplying RVP and Rooney with the killer passes, he will need to get some time off regular football, especially if United are looking to challenge on all fronts as has always been the case. Therefore these players will need some cover, and for this reason, it is safe to assume that selling these two players will be the worst mistake yet. Think about an Anderson-Cleverley partnership and flashback to the damage they caused Manchester City in the Community Shield win in 2011 August, and you will see the sense.
