Real Madrid Goalkeeper Iker Casillas has advised Spain team mate Xavi Hernandez to stop his public criticism with regards to his remarks about Sergio Busquets.
The captain of Spain has asked the Barcelona midfielder to speak to him personally if he has a problem with his statements.
During the Clasico encounter in at the Bernabeu , Barcelona‘s midfielder Sergio Busquets supposedly stamped on Real Madrid centre back Pepe’s face as there were several pictures revealing the same. Casillas said in his post match comments that he would “slap” his compatriot when they meet the next time.
Xavi reacted to his comments by accusing the Blancos keeper of being “very unfair” to Sergio. He also voiced his support for his Blaugrana team mate by saying that, “Busquets never stomped on Pepe; you can see in all the images that there’s nothing to it.”
Casillas was infuriated with his colleague’s comments and has asked the Catalan play maker to stop publicizing the issue in front of the media.
“If Xavi has a problem with me, he has to talk about it calmly to me and not give out free publicity to fill TV shows,” he said.
“We don’t need to give it any more thought. Let’s put it to one side, as it’s boring and tiresome.”
The arch rivals will meet again in the Copa Del Rey final on April 16, 2014 at the Mestalla Stadium in Valencia.
