The world football governing body released the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings yesterday in which our India Women remain 52nd in the world, amongst 128 ranked nations, with 1441 points. Among the 36 ranked Asian nations, our India Women remain 11th ahead of Iran and Jordan, while in the overall rankings India are behind Cameroon and Ghana, but ahead of Iran, Equatorial Guinea, Ireland and South Africa.
India’s defence of their SAFF Women’s Championship title in Sri Lanka has helped our women to retain their position in the world rankings.
In the women’s game, Olympic champions United States of America remain top of the rankings ahead of Germany, World Cup winners Japan, Brazil, France, Sweden, Canada and England ahead of joint ninth Australia and North Korea.
