Children from the Premier India Football Academy had the privilege to train at the Liverpool FC Youth Academy in Kerby and visit the 2 of the best clubs in Europe.
Premier India Football Academy (PIFA) organized the Champions tour to England – a football tour for children 9-16 years.
The tour has been designed by PIFA to help children to learn to play football as well as appreciate and understand the history of English football and what makes these clubs them so special. Thirty three children were taken to Old Trafford Stadium (Manchester United) & Anfield Stadium (Liverpool FC). The children got an extensive guided tour of the Stadium and their Museum.
The children also got to see an English Premier League match from the Bullens Road stand at Goodison Park. Everton’s final home game against Portsmouth. The match was won 1-0 by Everton FC.
Football training was conducted through the week by the UEFA licensed coaches from Inspire Academy. The children played 2 friendly matches against Vauxhall FC U16 boys & Altrincham FC U11 boys, both matches ended in a tie.
The children were treated to a training session at the Liverpool FC Youth Academy in Kerby. Young Steven Gerrard & Michael Owen have graduated through the Youth system.
Each child underwent a fitness and skills test. The skills winner was Vikhyat Sinh from Jameshedpur with a score of 630 points. The group was accompanied by two adults from India ensuring that the children totally focus on football and enjoy themselves.
This has been PIFA twentieth camp to Europe, the next camp is to Barcelona.
The proceeds of these camps are utilised to develop teams from the PIFA Colaba community football project undertaken by NGO – PIFA Foundation for benefit of sports.
