The Indian men’s football team will be playing as many as three international friendlies in Europe this June, according to Telegraph India.
AIFF secretary Kushal Das, announced on Tuesday, “We will be playing on June 5 and June 11 and one more friendly, the date of which hasn’t been finalised yet. We will play all the three matches in Europe.”
Das, though, said the opponents are yet to be finalised went on to add, “We are in the process of finalising the opponents.”
India has had a torrid time recently, when they lost 4-2 to Palestine at home, and failed to make an impression in the recently concluded AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers, where they went on to win their first two games easily but faltered against hosts Myanmar, who defeated them 1-0.
Despite the recent disappointments, India has managed to jump 24 places in the FIFA rankings and now they are placed 143, whereas previously they were 167.
