Barely a week is left for the much awaited UEFA Champions League semi-finals as the big guns of Europe go head-to-head for a place in Lisbon next month to battle it out for the coveted Champions League trophy.
A lot is at stake for the four teams, as Atletico Madrid make their first Champions League semi-final after 40 years, Bayern Munich look to become the first team in the history of Champions League football (after the European Cup got renamed) to win back-to-back titles, Chelsea wait for their second Champions League triumph in four years and Jose Mourinho aims to become the first man to win it with three different clubs (FC Porto and Inter Milan, the other two), and Real Madrid try to make history by completing La Decima (tenth European Cup).
These teams have not just made their name in the recent years, but they have a rich history to go with too. Their successes in Europe have been remarkable.
Here’s an infographic which depicts the European records of the four teams that are present in the semi-finals.
