Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, who is recovering from a torn thigh muscle will miss the Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid on Tuesday. Despite having made progress on his recovery, Pogba could rejoin training on Wednesday at the earliest.
Massimiliano Allegri was optimistic about Pogba’s chance’s of returning in time for the game but a fitness test ahead of the game has revealed that he will not be available for the Italian giants.
The club statement read: “The MRI scan taken by Paul Pogba this afternoon revealed that the player has made further progress in his recovery from a torn thigh muscle.
“The player will undergo a personalised recovery regime before potentially returning to full training with the group on Wednesday.”
However, this could mean that the Frenchman will be fit for Juventus’ trip to Santiago Bernabeu on 13 May.
