According to reports in Italy, Chilean midfielder Gary Medel is set to become Inter Milan’s fifth signing of the summer.
Reports say that the South American has jetted off to Milan to put pen to paper after the Italian club agreed a fee with Cardiff City for Medel’s services.
Medel joined the Bluebirds last summer as the club’s record signing. Vincent Tan sanctioned a £11 million deal to bring the South American to British shores from Seville as Cardiff prepared for its first season in the Premier League. .
However, Medel failed to keep Cardiff in the Premier League as they went straight back down garnering only 30 points from their 38 games.
He personally never seemed to get going or provide the spark that many expected he would induce upon his introduction in the Bluebirds’ rank. The Chilean finished the season without a single goal to his name in 34 appearances for the club.
Now it seems like that Medel is about to end his English ordeal and jet off to Milan to complete a deal repotedly worth €9m plus bonuses. If compelted, the signing would mean that he will follow in the footsteps Rene Krhin, Nemanja Vidic, Dodô and Yann M’Villa in signing for the Nerazzurri this summer.
