Milan, Sep 13 (IANS) Former Inter Milan head coach Andrea Stramaccioni admitted that he paid the price for his inexperience which led to his sacking last season.

Stramaccioni, coach of the Primavera youth team, was promoted to manage the senior team in March 2012 and was fired in May 2013 to make way for Walter Mazzarri, reports Xinhua.

“During the emergency situation and the difficulties, I paid for my inexperience. There’s nothing wrong in admitting that I made mistakes too,” he said.

He revealed he had a good rapport with Inter president Massimo Moratti but “what happened in the last 10 days between the game with Genoa and the end of the season, did everything. However, I will never bite the hand that fed me.”

However, he did not specify what mistakes he had committed.

“From January, we started having many different problems; a bit of bad luck and lost important players like Walter Samuel and Diego Milito. Then there were Rodrigo Palacio, Javier Zanetti and the others.”
