Chelsea target Fredy Guarin has hinted that he may stay at Inter for the rest of the season despite confirming talks are ongoing, report The Mirror.
Guarin’s agent revealed earlier this month that Chelsea were leading the chase for his signature, with the likes of Manchester United also interested in signing the Colombian in January.
The 27-year-old, speaking after Inter’s 1-0 win over AC Milan, revealed he has not spoken to Jose Mourinho and that he is in no rush to leave Inter.
“There is a negotiation ongoing and I cannot deny it,” said Guarin. “I have not spoken with Mourinho, but my agent did it.
“Now I just think of Inter and I want to stay here, we’ll see what happens.”
Inter Milan’s general director Marco Fassone confirmed there are a number of clubs chasing Guarin, but insisted they hope to keep the former Porto man.
“Guarin has great talent and a lot of teams like him,” Fassone told Radio Rai. “Mazzarri has commended him, about the market we will see if anything happens and we will strengthen the team.
“Currently, however, on Guarin there are only rumours: he is one of our champions, and we keep him tight.”
Guarin has completed 53 take-ons in Serie A this season, the second highest in the league.
