According to the Metro, Inter Milan are after midfield destroyer Sandro. After Massimo Moratti relinquished control of the Italian club last week, fans are hoping that new majority shareholder Erick Thohir will be splashing the cash in January to ensure the club are in Europe next season.
This has seen them linked with Sandro who is returning to fitness after a lengthy spell on the sidelines in North London. Intense competition for places in Tottenham’s midfield this season could see Sandro favouring a move away from the club being it a World Cup year, but any potential bidders will have to come up with much more than the £6m Inter are reportedly willing to part with.
Last season saw the former Italian giants fail to qualify for Europe for the first time since the 1998/99 Serie A campaign. Coupled with heavy debts, this poor form prompted Moratti to look for new investment in order to secure the long-term future of the club.
Thohir will be looking to Sandro as the long-term successor to the aging, but still effective, Esteban Cambiasso.
Sandro completed 65% (47/72) of his tackles last season before being injured in January.
